The mission of the Lime Creek Nature Center is to develop an awareness and

appreciation of our natural world through conservation and education.

Inside the nature center building there are mounted animals, live animals, hands-on materials, an auditorium, various natural resource displays, a natural resource library, and the Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board staff offices.

The Lime Creek Nature Center opened in 1984 as a conservation education facility serving North Iowa.  It was funded exclusively by donations from private        citizens, businesses,                   organizations, and foundations.  The nature center is not tax funded and relies on

memberships and donations to continue its mission.
